Katie Harbin is an award-winning writer/director with over a decade of industry experience. Her visual storytelling encompasses narrative short films, sketch, and commercial work. She has produced and directed ads for major brands such as Jack Daniel's, Not Your Father's Root Beer, and Lucky Lager.

As a filmmaker, Katie’s brand is ‘Relatable Rebels.’ She loves telling fresh stories about underrepresented or misunderstood characters, and exploring the themes of family, identity, and self-expression through quirky comedies that balance humor with heart.

She got her start at Florida State University, where she earned her MFA. Her graduate thesis film DANTE won her Best Director at the Broad Humor Film Festival in 2015, and Best Student Short at Central Florida Film Festival that same year. Since then, Katie has continued to write, direct, and produce visually-stunning original content. Her 2018 short Going Home screened at the Laemmle NoHo Theatre in L.A. as part of the UCLAxFilmFest and played internationally in the Gandhara Independent Film Festival in 2020. Her comedy sketches have also been featured on Funny or Die.

Katie is currently freelancing in Los Angeles, and when she’s not developing her next project or directing up a storm you can find her watching stand-up, jamming out to classic rock, or playing with her two kitties, Meeper & Gizmo.
